Project Management
by Gary R. Heerkens

This book provides a concise overview of the steps involved in managing a project. It is easier to read than the “Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge,” while covering much of the same material. Techniques such as responsibility charting, network diagramming, and risk management planning are explained in detail. Heerkens also addresses the all important people aspects of managing a project successfully: leading a team, communicating progress and satisfying stakeholder expectations.
The author engages the reader with a clear and entertaining style. The story follows the adventures of Brad, an “accidental” project manager, as he learns the ropes while managing his first project. All in all, a great resource to quickly orient the new project manager.
